Have you heard of comedian Donald Glover? He's Troy on Community, he writes for 30 Rock, he's got a pretty funny stand up special on Comedy Central, and oh, he raps. Apparently, under the name Childish Gambino, he's been rapping for a while. Here's a song titled "The Last" of his off the album Culdesac, which came out last July:
The Last by Childish Gambino
He's got a brand new track that came out last week, Freaks & Geeks, for a new EP that should drop in May. He's got a pretty fun feature on remix of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep.
Childish Gambino doesn't fit the mold of a big time rapper, but he's super creative, but his flow could remind you of the style of a Kid Cudi, Drake or Wiz Khalifa. The influences of indie-rock are prevalent, and while some of his lyrics are, well, "childish" and "crude" at times, he's honest about himself and his life, which is refreshing.
