I'm disappointing myself with the lack of posts, but to be fair (erm... to myself) I was out of town for my brother's college graduation. So, this post will be dedicated to him and his eclectic musical tastes.
Gotta start with some mash-ups, so why not begin with Mick Boogie and Terry Urban:
Viva La Hova (coldplay + jay z)
Radiohead + Lupe
He loves his mash-ups, and I'm not sure if this link will work or not (try clicking it) so I'm going to point you all in the direction of Bootie USA. "Every year, DJs Adrian & Mysterious D compile and mix a continuous, CD-length compilation of the biggest Bootie mashup hits from that year. These annual mixes are perfect for parties!" If you are serious about mash ups, Bootie USA will change your life. Enough Said.
Matt & Kim -- Daylight... according to my brother "a fun indie tune"
Too bad the video didn't embed properly, but here is Noah and the whale - 5 years time .. another "catchy folksy tune" according to the man himself.
Free the Robots -- Jazzhole "If you are one of those people who love everything about music -- experimental, jazz, electronica, downtempo, bossanova, hip hop, soul, rock, psychedelic and more -- Free the Robots may just be your new favorite indie band." According to my brother: this song is the best perhaps but its mostly just electronica/jazz... has a very modern feel to it.
Why not end with this funky jam:
