I made it through my first official week of blogging! For all of you celebrating, I'll keep it to the tune of St. Patrick's Day...
Boston's band du jour, you probably will hear "the current Boston theme song" a few times today, but you might not hear the Dropkick Murphys'live version with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. It gets me pumped every time (read: I am a sox/celtics/bruins/pats fan).
Finally, I will end with a modern band from Ireland... Rodrigo y Gabriela. Wait, aren't they a mexican duo that play Spanish guitar? These two traveling acoustic finger-picking guitarists moved to Dublin to perform in pubs and gained quite the reputation and have hit it big quickly. Their mesmerizing sound can take on many different styles of songs and fit it uniquely into their liking, "take" my favorite: Take 5.
